Elementary 2-group character codes

چکیده
In this correspondence we describe a class of codes over GF (q), where q is a power of an odd prime. These codes are analogues of the binary Reed-Muller codes and share several features in common with them. We determine the minimum weight and determine properties of these codes. For a subclass of codes we find the weight distribution and prove that the minimum nonzero weight codewords give 1-designs.

متن کاملSome two-character sets
Some new examples of two–character sets with respect to planes of PG(3,q2), q odd, are constructed. They arise from three–dimensional hyperbolic quadrics, from the geometry of an orthogonal polarity commuting with a unitary polarity. The last examples arise from the geometry of the unitary group PSU(3,3) acting on the split Cayley hexagon H(2). Dedicated to the memory of András Gács (1969-2009)
متن کاملCodes on graphs: Models for elementary algebraic topology and statistical physics
This paper is primarily a semi-tutorial introduction to elementary algebraic topology and its applications to Ising-type models of statistical physics, using graphical models of linear and group codes. It contains new material on systematic (n,k) group codes and their information sets; normal realizations of (co)homology spaces; dual and hybrid models; and connections with system-theoretic conc...
متن کاملConstruction of Self-Dual Radical 2-Codes of given Distance
A linear code C is called a group code if C is an ideal in a group algebra K[G] where K is a ring and G is a finite group. Many classical linear error-correcting codes can be realized as ideals of group algebras. Berman [1], in the case of characteristic 2, and Charpin [2], for characteristic p = 2, proved that all generalized Reed–Muller codes coincide with powers of the radical of the group a...
متن کاملThe Development of the Chinese Character Knowledge in Hong Kong Cantonese-speaking Children
This paper reports a study on the development of the Chinese character recognition knowledge in 2 942 Hong Kong Cantonese-speaking elementary school children. 2 357 Chinese characters in the Revised Chinese Character List (2007) for Hong Kong Cantonese-speaking elementary school children were divided into 36 versions of test booklets to test the school children’s character recognition knowledge...
